Position - Commercial Manager (M/F - 1 Post)

Salary - USD 731 ~ USD 1,247 + Health & Life Insurance+ Monthly Communication Allowance

Business - NGO

Working Days & Hours - Wednesday to Sunday (9:00 AM ~ 5:30 PM)

Location - Bahan Township

Job Description: 

Leadership:

  • Develop, plan and implement strategies that align with the organisation’s goals to promote economic resilience of artisans.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to understand the needs of current clients and artisans, and devise and implement client acquisition strategies, ultimately benefitting artisans.
  • Collaborate with departments such as crafts, jewellery, finance, operations and international creative and commercial teams across the organisation.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform business plans on commercial opportunities and understand future threats and solutions.
  • Lead in setting financial targets and budget development.
  • Monitor the performance of commercial activities using key metrics and share report with the Country Director and Commercial Director.

Client Account Management:

  • Guide clients through the design and product development as well as order fulfilment phases.
  • Negotiate pricing, create, and send quotations in a timely manner.
  • Create production schedules and budgets, monitor production to ensure it is on time, onbudget, best-in-class quality, and meet specifications.
  • Update clients regularly on the progress of production, and any unforeseen events and delays.
  • Work with Logistics Officer to ensure expedient shipping of orders to clients.
  • Work with Senior Finance Manager to oversee client finances, including invoicing and timely payments.

Other Commercial Activities:

  • Maximize the adaptive use of company's heritage villa, including designing, organising and implementing public cultural and crafts events in line with our goal, mission and vision, by collaborating with other departments.
  • Supervise and support Boutique Supervisor on overall operations of company Boutique and local retail opportunities in Myanmar.
  • Maintain and manage database of details of all products, including but not limited to, their specifications and pricing of company.

Communications:

  • Provide guidance to the Communications Officer and create marketing collateral, client database, etc.
  • Coordinate the creation of social media strategy and/or content for our Myanmar (social) media channels and newsletters.
  • Organize and document (product) photography shoots and artisans’ stories.
  • Update and send out product catalogues regularly and manage all inquiries including those that come through social media.
  • This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be required as determined by the needs of the organisation.

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, organisational and leadership ability to guide the organisation to achieve its goal to support artisans.

Education and experience:

  • Experience in developing and implementing successful business growth strategies that align with the organisation’s aims of the business.
  • A business qualification – BSc/BA/ MSc/MA in business administration, finance or a relevant field,or equivalent experience gained in employment.

Digital skills and experience:

  • Confident user of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook,

Teams

  • Able to form relationships and connect with stakeholders remotely
  • Experience of using software such as Monday.com may be an advantage though is not essential

Language skills:

  • Must be fluent in both spoken and written Burmese
  • Excellent level of international standard spoken and written English with exceptional reporting skills is essential
